AIPMT (All India Pre-Medical /
Pre-Dental Entrance Test) is counted as an annual medical entrance test
of India by qualifying which candidates can get admission to MBBS and
BDS programs offered by a majority of medical colleges located across
the country. CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) is the
concerned authority that conducts this exam every year. However, the
role of CBSE is limited; they are only responsible for conducting the
exam, declaration of result and handing over the merit list to DGHS
(Directorate General of Health Services), Ministry of Health &
Family Welfare, Government of India and participating
Universities/States/Institutions. Further the counseling process for
shortlisted candidates under 15% All India Quota seats is organized by
the DGHS. Talking about the number of candidates appears in AIPMT
exam are 523,701 (in 2014) and 374,386 (in 2015). Hence, genuine
preparation and appropriate guidance are necessary in order to acquire
considerable achievements in this exam.
Important Highlights of AIPMT 2016
- AIMPT 2016 is going to be held on 01.05.2016 (Sunday).
- Candidates are only allowed to apply for AIPMT 2016 in online mode. No other modes of application will be entertained.
- Information brochure can be downloaded from the official website of AIPMT i.e. aipmt.nic.in.
- Candidates need to go to the official website of AIPMT for online submission of the application form. All candidates are advised to follow the information brochure while filling up and submission of AIPMT 2016 application form.
- While filling up the application form please put either your own or your parent’s mobile numbers and emil ID as the further communication will be made through this only.
- Complete the application process very carefully; any mistakes in the application form or providing wrong information will cause cancellation of your application.
- Please preserve your admit card till the admission process is over.
- AIPMT exam will be a single state examination and questions will be objective type only.
- Only one application needs to be submitted by a candidate. More than one application will are not allowed.
- Under no circumstances, the board is authorized to change the centre as it will be allotted by computer only.
- Candidates can download their admit card, Marks cum Rank Sheet/Rank Letter from the official website AIPMT i.e. aipmt.nic.in.
- The exam duration will be for 3 hours.
- For every correct answer, 4 marks will be awarded and one mark will be deducted for every incorrect response.
- Marking more than one response for one question will be assumed as an incorrect answer and marks will be deducted for the same.
- Candidates are not allowed to do any rough work on the answer sheet. It needs to be done in the Test Booklet itself.

Items Which Are Barred Inside the Examination Centre
Items which are not allowed to bring
inside the examination centre are stationary products like bits of
papers, textual material, Plastic Pouch, Geometry/Pencil Box, Pen,
Calculator, Pen Drives, Pen/Scanner, Log Table, Eraser, Writing Pad, ,
Scale; communication devices such as Bluetooth, Mobile Phone, Earphones,
Pager, Microphone, Health Band etc; metallic item, camera, watch,
Wallet, Handbags, Goggles, Hair Pin, Charm/Tabeez, Hair Band, Belt,
Scarf, Cap, Bracelet, Ring, Earrings, Chain/Necklace, Nose-pin,
Pendants, Brooch, Badge, water bottle etc.
Dress Code Information – AIPMT 2016
Candidates must need to maintain the dress code as specified the concerned body:
- Light clothes along with half sleeves. Brooch/badge, buttons, flower etc are allowed with Trouser/Salwar.
- Slippers and not the shoes.
