CEED (Common entrance examination for design) 2016 is a national level
exam for the students who want to take the admission in Masters of
Design (M.Des.) at IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kanpur, IIT
Hyderabad and IISc Bangalore. It is also the gateway to the PhD programs
in design in various reputed institutes of the country. CEED 2016 will
be conducted by IIT Bombay under the assistance of human resource
department of government of India. Candidates have to qualify the CEED
2016 to take admissions into these prestigious institutes of our
country. Although mere qualifying this exam is not the guarantee of
admission. After qualify the exam, all the institutes will take the
separate test/interview for the final selection. There is no age limit
is required to appear in this exam.
Courses offered after clearing CEED 2016 are as follows:
CEED 2016 application form will be submitted only through online mode from official website of the CEED 2016. Application fee of CEED 2016 is Rs. 2000/- for male candidates (general and OBC candidates), Rs. 1000/- for male candidates (SC/ST/PwD) candidates and Rs. 1000/- for female candidates. Application process of this exam is very simple. Go to the official website of CEED, register yourself by open apply online link, provide your valid email id and registered mobile number for further assistance. After the registration is completed, you will receive an email and sms of password for confirmation, go to that email and click on the application process link. An application form will be provided in the screen, fill that form correctly and carefully. An application number is generated. Note down that number and proceed to fee payment. Application fees could be only submitted by online through debit card, credit card and internet banking. You can also use SBI collection link for the payment of fees. Follow the instructions of payment carefully. After the payment of fees, note down the SBI collect reference number and the bank reference number. Now the final step is completion of online application form. Enter your personal details as well as the other details correctly, enter the payment details carefully, upload the scanned photograph (320×240- 640x 480), and scanned signature (400×150- 800×300). Both the photograph and the signature should be in JPEG format. Then complete the process by clicking ‘submit’ button but before that you can also see the preview of the application form and recheck it. After submitted the form, take out a print of the application form keep it with you for further use.

CEED 2016 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates have to be completed any of the following norms for appearing CEED 2016:- Candidates should have Bachelor degree in Engineering/Architecture/Design and interior design or equivalent after 10+2.
- Professional diploma in design from NID/CEPT or equivalent after 10+2.
- BFA (Bachelor in Fine Arts).
- D. Art with one year of professional experience in the same field.
- Masters degree in Arts/Science or Computer Applications.
CEED 2016 Exam Important Dates
The actual dates has been announced by the board.- Submission of application form : 10th August – 14th September 2015
- Choice of test centers: Mid October to end of October 2015
- CEED Admit Card 2016: 7th November 2015
- Date of examination: 6th December 2015
- Result declaration: 15th January 2016
- Score cards availability: January 2016
Exam Pattern
CEED 2016 exam will be conducted in two parts, A and B. All the candidates should answer both the parts. Part A is a computer based screening test. Only those candidates, who will clear Part A, will be allowed to appear in Part B. Merit list will be made on the basis of Part B only. Part A will start at 10:00 hrs and will end at 11:00 hrs. Part B will start immediately from 11:00 hrs to 13:00 hrs. Part A consists of 50 questions divided in 3 sections. Section 1 will have 5 questions of 2 marks each. Wrong answer will deduct your 0.6 marks. Section 2 consists of 10 questions of 2 marks each. There is no negative marking in this section. Section 3 will have 35 questions of 2 marks each and 0.6 marks will be deducted for negative marking. Part B will be like a practical exam in which your designing and hand drawing capabilities will be tested. There is no specific textbook or guide is recommended for the preparation of CEED. Admit Card
Admit cards will be available for downloading from the CEED website from first week of November 2015 to first week of December 2015. Please take a clear printout (in color) of the admit card before coming to the examination centre.Result
Result of CEED 2016 will be declared on January 2016 from its official website. Candidates could take the print out of the score card which is for two years from the date of declaration of results.Admission
- The admission information into postgraduate programs of various institutes participating in CEED 2016 shall be announced separately after declaration of results.
- Candidates are required to apply individually for the preferred institutes for the counseling procedure based on their scores of CEED 2016 and the eligibility criteria of the institutes.
- Candidates qualifying CEED 2016 doesn’t guarantee admission in any programme offered by any institute participating in the CEED 2016 and candidates might be required to appear for further tests and interviews for respective design departments for admission of the institutes.
