KCET (Karnataka Common Entrance Test) 2016 will be conducted as a state
level entrance exam for admission of Karnataka and wards of Jammu and
Kashmir migrants candidates to various UG courses on government seats
offered by many government, aided and private institutions in Karnataka.
The examination will be conducted by the Karnataka Examinations
Authority (KEA) under the flag of Karnataka University. The KCET 2016
will offer the government share of seats in Medical, Dental, Ayurveda,
Homeopathy, Unani, Naturopathy & Yoga, Engineering, Technology,
Architecture, Farm Science courses i.e, B.Sc. (Agriculture), B.Sc.
(Sericulture), B.Sc (Horticulture), B.Sc (Forestry), B.Sc. Agri Bio
Tech, BHSc.(Home Science), B.Tech (Agri.Engg), B.Tech (Food Technology),
B.Tech (Dairy Tech), B.FSc (Fisheries), B.Tech (Food Science &
Tech), B.Sc. (Agri. Marketing & Co-Op) , B.Pharma and Pharma-D
courses.
Important Dates
- Opening date of online application form – last week of January 2016
- Last day to submit filled forms – first week of March 2016
- Last day of fee payment – first week of March 2016
- Date of KCET Admit Card 2015 – second week of April 2016
- Exam date – second week of May 2016
- Kannada Language test date – second week of May 2016
- Practical Exam for Agriculture Quota – third week of May 2016
- KCET Result 2016 Date – last week of May 2016
- KCET counselling 2016 starts – Second half of June 2016
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates got their qualifying certificate from any open school or university are not eligible to KCET 2016. The candidates must be the living of Karnataka state or having a mother tongue as Kannada or having seven years academic background in institutions located in Karnataka. The J&K migrants may also apply for the examination. The candidates must be of age 17 years as on or before 31st December 2016. Other details are as the following:- Engineering & Technology – 12th passed with min. 45% marks in PCM (40% for reserved categories).
- Medical/Dental/Other – 12th passed with min. 50% marks in PCB with English (40% for reserved categories).
- Architecture – 12th passed with min. 50% marks with Mathematics (45% for reserved categories).
- B.Sc (forestry & Agri.) & B.HSc – 12th passed with PCB.
- B.Tech (Agri.) – 12th passed with PCM.
- B.Pharma – Must have 45% marks in PCM or PCB or D.Pharma (40% for reserved categories).
- B.Tech (Fisheries, dairy, food tech.) – 12th passed with PCMB.
