Odisha DET 2016: Application, Eligibility

Odisha DET (Diploma Entrance Test) 2016 will be a state level polytechnic entrance test for admission to various polytechnic regular and lateral entry courses like engineering, non-engineering, technical, film, TV and media courses offered by the institutions of Odisha. The examination will be conducted by the DTE (Directorate of Technical Education), Odisha governed by the Department of Employment and Technical Education & Training, Government of Odisha.

Eligibility

• Minimum age criteria for engineering and Beauty Culture courses is 14 years.
• Minimum age criteria for other courses is 16 years.
• Candidates must be passed 10th examination with any stream from any recognized board of India For engineering courses.
• Candidates must be passed 12th examination with any stream from any recognized board of India For other courses.
• For pharmacy and Sound Engineering, Candidates should have science in qualifying exam.
• For engineering courses, candidates should have math, science and english in qualifying exam.
• Candidates should have the minimum of 35% total aggregate marks and 30% marks in each subject in qualifying exam.
• The upper age limit bar is not existed.
• Candidates appearing the qualifying exam can also apply for Odisha DET 2016.

Application Form

Odisha DET 2016 application form will be available online on official website of the board on fourth week of February 2016. Candidates will have to fill the particulars in online application form along with the application fee details which will be prescribed by the board as Rs. 200/- (for SC/ST/PH) or Rs. 350/- (for female) or Rs. 450/- (for general male) through the credit card/ debit card/ e-Challan or net banking at any branch of IDBI or Axis bank. Candidates would submit the application form via online only.

• Date of application form – fourth week of February 2016
• Last Dates of submitting Online Application – third week of April 2016
• Last date of Receipt the Application Fee – third week of April 2016
• Date of Issuing the Admit card – first week of May 2016
• Exam Date: 1st Semester Engineering – third week of May 2016
• Exam Date: 3rd Semester Lateral Entry and others – third week of May 2016
• Date of result – fourth week of May 2016
• Date of Counselling – July 2016

Exam Pattern

Examination for regular course will be asked in English and Odia language while for lateral entry there will be english language only. The examination will consist of one paper only with 100 multiple answer type questions of the duration two and half hour. Each correct answer will be given 4 marks while there is no provision for negative marking. The examination will be come from the syllabus of qualifying exam.

Admit Card

The Odisha DET Admit Card 2016 will be available on the official site of the board in the first week of May 2016. Candidates may download their admit card by using their name and application number. There will not be entertained any other communication like offline or post for the admit card except online. Candidates may also get their duplicate admit card (In case of lost) from the examination centre with payment of Rs. 20/- with two identically photo as uploaded in application form.

Result

The result will be published in the last week of May 2016 on the official site of the board and can be gotten by entering the name/application number and roll number/date of birth. After declaration the result, the board will announce the rank card via online.

Counselling

On the date of document verification, the candidates must fill the fee as Rs. 200/- (Counselling Fee). The application number, user ID, roll number and password should be secure by the candidates for further reference.
