JIPMER 2016: Application Form, Exam Pattern, Eligibility

JIPMER 2016 is the national level medical entrance exam conducted by the Jawaharlal Institute Postgraduate Medical Education & Research, Pondicherry (JIPMER) for admission to its MBBS programme. The JIPMER exam is conducted every year in the month of June, to select candidates for its MBBS course. Every year thousands of candidates from all parts of the country appear in the JIPMER examination. Here in this article we will provide all the details regarding JIPMER exam 2016, this include JIPMER application form 2016, pattern of the exam, eligibility criteria and all other details have been mentioned below.

Application Form

The candidates interested in JIPMER exam can apply online from the official website of the JJIPMER University, the application can be filled only through the online mode. The online application for the JIPMER exam 2016 will begin from1st week of March 2016, till 1st week of May, 2016. The candidates have to visit the official website and enter details over there. After filling the form candidates have to pay the application fees of Rs 1000/- for the candidates belonging to general category, and Rs 880/- for the reserved category candidates (SC/ST).
The application fees can be paid through debit/credit card or candidates can use net banking or bank challan to pay the application fees.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidates appearing for the exam must have completed their age of 17 years as on or before the 31st December 2016.
The candidates must have passed/appearing the 12th or senior secondary education or its equivalent examination from a recognized board in India.
The candidates must have Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology and English in the qualifying examination in order to appear for the examination.
The candidates must have obtained the 50% marks (40% for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PH category) in the qualifying examination.

  • online registration start –7th March 2016
  • Last date of online registration – 4th May 2016
  • Date of issue of admit card – second week of May 2016
  • Date of entrance examination – 5th June 2016
  • Declaration of result – second week of June 2016
  • Counsellig – to be announced later

Exam Pattern

There will be objective type question asked from Physics, Chemistry, Biology Logic & Quantitative Reasoning and English Comprehension. The mode of the question paper will be in English and there will be no negative marking.
  • Biology/Biochemistry – 60 Questions
  • Physics – 60 Questions
  • Chemistry – 60 Questions
  • Logic & Quantitative Reasoning – 10 Questions
  • English & Comprehension – 10 Questions
The candidate should note that the examination pattern is based on the previous year pattern and may subject to change this year.

Admit card

The JIPMER Admit card 2016 will be announced in the month of May, candidates can check their admit card from our website or they can also visit official website to check their admit card. All the details regarding admit card will be updated in this page.

Result

The JIPMER result 2016 will be declared by the university in the month of June, candidates can check their result by entering their roll no. in the official website.

Counseling

The counselling schedule of the JIPMER exam 2016 will be declared after the declaration of result; those candidates who qualify the exam will be called for counselling, students, the admission will be based on the rank scored by the candidate in the JIPMER entrance exam.
