The National Institute of Fashion Technology, Mumbai is one of the

the field of fashion technology & design. The institute is offering
the UG and PG degree in various fashion streams. The institute invites
the application from all Indian and foreign candidates for the admission
through the NIFT Entrance Exam. The NIFT entrance exam will be
conducted by the NIFT in selected Major cities of India.

The
NIFT Entrance Exam application form 2016 are available online and
offline also. The application form along with the prospectus can be
downloaded from the NIFT official website. The application fee can be
remit via online through the payment gateway or through the Demand Draft
in favour of “NIFT HO” payable at New Delhi. The application fee for
the general category and non-creamy OBC candidates is Rs. 1400/- through
the NIFT payment gateway and Rs. 1500/- through the DD. The application
fee for the SC/ST/PHP candidates is Rs. 800/- through the NIFT payment
gateway and Rs. 900/- through the DD. The candidates may remit their
application fee through the credit/debit cards as per the explanation in
the official site. The filled application form should reach physically
at the below address before the prescribed date.

Official dates are announced as per the below given schedule:- Online registration starts: 20th Oct. 2015
- Online registration closed: 10th Jan. 2016
- Online registration closed (with late fee as Rs.5000/-): 16th Jan. 2016
- Admit card issue: 21st Jan. 2016
- NIFT examination hold on: 14th Feb. 2016
- Date of GD and PI: April – May 2016
- Declaration of final result: May – June 2016
- Counselling: June 2016 onwards

Eligibility Criteria
The candidates are advised to read the eligibility criteria before filling the application form as prescribed below:For Bachelor Programmes
- The maximum age should be 23 years as on 1st october 2015. The upper age limit may be stretched by the five years for the SC/ST/PWD candidates.
- The candidates should pass the 12th or its equivalent examination from any recognized education board of India or its equivalent.
- For apparel production the candidates must have the Physics, Chemistry and mathematics in 12th
- The candidates appearing for the qualifying examination in 2016 are also eligible for the test.
For Master Programmes
- There is no age bar for the master programmes.
- For M.Des and MFM the candidates should have bachelor degree from any recognized university. OR
- The candidates have the diploma in UG design or any UG diploma of minimum 3 years duration from NIFT/NID only.
- For master of fashion technology the candidates should pass the Bachelor degree in same branch from NIFT or having the BE/B.Tech from any recognized university of India.
- The candidates appearing for the qualifying examination in 2016 are also eligible for the test.
Reservation of the Seats
The seat reservation criteria are as the following:- SC – 15%
- ST – 7.5%
- OBC (Non-Creamy) – 27%
- PHP (with 40% or more disability) – 3%
- Foreign nationals/SAARC/NRI – 15%
- State Domicile – 20%

Admit Card
The NIFT admit card 2016 will not be sent via post to the applicants. The applicants should download their admit card through the official website of the NIFT on 21st January 2016. The admit card will contain the examination details like examination centre, date and time of the examination and your roll number and personal details including photograph.You may also check:
