NMAT 2016

The NMAT (NMIMS Management Aptitude Test) is one of the most popular entrance exams for the admission to the MBA programmes offered by the NMIMS (Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Study) and others. It is a National level postgraduate management courses entrance examination and it is open for the all Indian candidates.

Programmes & Seats

The examination is conducted for the following programmes as per the given seat criteria:
  • MBA in Finance, Information, Marketing, Operations & Decision – 500 Seats
  • MBA in Human Resources – 60 Seats
  • MBA in Pharmaceutical Management – 60 Seats
  • PGDM (Bangaluru Campus) – 120 Seats
  • PGDBM (Hyderabad Campus) – 60 Seats
The candidates may apply for more than one campus and more than one programme.

Eligibility Criteria

The students are suggested to go through with the eligibility criteria before applying for this examination. The eligibility criteria are as the following:
  • The candidates must be the graduate in any discipline with minimum 50% marks in the first attempt from a recognized university for MBA and MBA HR course (Mumbai Campus).
  • Graduation in Pharmacy, life science, medical, biotech or B.Tech in Biotech or Biomedical with minimum 50% marks in first attempt from a recognized university for MBA in Pharmaceutical Management (Mumbai Campus).
  • The candidates must be graduate in any discipline with minimum 50% marks in first attempt from a recognized university for PGDM and PGDBM courses (Bangaluru & Hyderabad Campus).
  • Postgraduate candidates in Sociology, Psychology or Economics can also apply for the MBA in Pharmaceutical Management.
  • Candidates having working experience more than two years in Pharmaceutical field will be preferred for the MBA in Pharmaceutical Management.
  • Candidates having corresponding degree may also eligible.
  • Candidates those done the graduation from foreign universities should have the AIU certificate as mandatory requirement.
  • Only regular and full-time programme candidates appearing for the final examination may apply for the NMAT, but they must have met the passing criteria before admission.

  • Re-take Scheduling Start Date: 6th October 2015
  • Re-take Scheduling End Date: 18th December 2015
  • Announcement of NMAT result 2016: 15th Jan 2016
  • Registration for CD/ PI: fourth week of Jan 2016 to first week of Feb 2016
  • Conduct of CD/ PI: second week of Feb 2016 to fourth week of Feb 2016
  • First Merit List: first week of March 2016

Exam Pattern and Structure

The NMAT would be a multiple choice objective type test. The NMAT examination will comprise in three sections as Language skills, Quantitative skills and logical reasoning. There will be 120 numbers of questions those will have to be attempted within 120 minutes. There will not be the negative marking. If the candidate is not satisfied with the score in first attempt then he/she may schedule for the re-take. There will be only 3 re-takes chance for any student. The highest score in all three re-takes will be considered for the final merit.

Registration Fee

  • 2000/- for normal registration for either MBA Full Time – Mumbai Campus or PGDM – Bangaluru / PGDBM – Hyderabad
  • 2400/- for both MBA Full Time – Mumbai Campus and PGDM – Bangaluru / PGDBM – Hyderabad
  • 2550/- for late registration for either MBA Full Time Mumbai Campus or PGDM – Bangaluru / PGDBM – Hyderabad
  • 3000/- for both MBA Full Time – Mumbai Campus and PGDM – Bangaluru / PGDBM – Hyderabad
  • 1000/- per reschedule
  • 2000/- per retake schedule

Application Process

The candidates shall have to apply via the online registration. There will be only one NMAT 2016 application form for single and multiple programmes and campuses. The candidates will have to fill all the required details in the online application form with the detail of fee payment. The registration fee will be submitted by the credit card or demand draft or cash on bank only. The candidate will be given a confirmation letter with all the information of appointment. After successful registration the candidates may take the print out of their admit card from the official website. On the time of CD and PI the candidates have to show their NMAT admit card 2016 duly signed by the test centre administrator. After confirmation of the registration there is no way to change the examination centre.

Selection Process

The selection will be made by the merit of candidates’ as per their score in the examination. The shortlisted candidates will be invited by the university for CD (Case Discussion) and PI (Personal Interview) round. The candidates would have to carry the admit card and call letter for these rounds. The call letter will be collected from the official website. The final merit list will be marked on the basis of academic marks, examination marks of NMAT, CD and PI performance, work experience and seat availability as per the preferred institutions.

  • 12th Mark sheet & Passing Certificate
  • Degree Mark sheet (for 1, 2, 3, 4th year), separately for each semester/ trimester
  • Degree Certificate/Provisional Degree certificate
  • AIU Certificate (For Foreign University students only)
  • Migration Certificate
  • Work Experience Certificate
  • Medical Fitness Certificate (In Original)
  • Medi-claim Policy
