Goa Common Entrance Test also known as GCET 2016 is the state level
common entrance test conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education
(DTE) Goa. The test is conducted for admission in to various under
graduate professional degree courses like Engineering, Medical, and
Architecture. Every year large number of students who are interested in
the above mentioned courses appear for the GCET exam, the exam is
conducted every year in the month of may for admission into the private
and government medical and engineering colleges located in Goa state.

The candidates must belong to Goa state, having valid domicile of Goa.
The candidates should have passed/appearing class 12th or equivalent having English, Physics, Chemistry and Maths/Biology/Biotechnology as the subjects.
For MBBS/BDS courses the candidate must have competed the age of 17 years age as on or before 31st December of the academic year.
For Engineering and Architecture courses there is no age limit for admission in these courses.
The exam consist of four papers from Physics, Chemistry, Maths and Biology, there will be 75 questions from each section, carrying one mark each.
Each paper will be of 2 hour, there will no negative marking in the examination
The question paper will come from the syllabus of class 11th and 12th.
Application Form
The candidates who are looking for the GCET application form for the year 2016, can get their application form the 3rd week of march, 2016. The application form will be available at various designated centres in Goa. In order to purchase the application form candidates have to pay the application fees i.e. (Application Brochure fee Rs. 900/- and examination fee Rs. 700/-). The candidates can also get their application form by post, by sending a DD to the Director of Technical Education at Panaji. The candidates also have the option of downloading the application form from the official site and filling all the details and then submitting it to the below mentioned address, along with 3 photographs and other relevant certificates.Directorate of technical Education

Eligibility Criteria

Important Dates
- Availability of application starts (Form A) & collecting admit cards – 3rd week of March 2016
- Last date of applications & collecting admit cards – April 2016
- GCET Exam– May, 2016
- Result date – 1st week of June 2016
- Submission of application form for admission (Form B) & with necessary enclosures – 2nd week of May, 2016.
- First round of admission – June, 2016
- Second round of admission – July, 2016
Exam Pattern
The candidates should know the pattern of GCET exam as it is very important, for scoring good rank in the examination.
